To help parents cultivate their children’s creativity, Lefranc Bourgeois has created two complete handbooks about gouache and acrylic. These are the two types of paint most commonly used in schools.

Our handbooks explain the properties of each paint, and provide an easy method for learning the colours. They are designed to help both the young and the old to dive head-first into the world of colour. They even include activity sheets inspired by the world’s greatest artists, including Monet, Keith Haring and Vasarely.

DRAWING ACTIVITY IN VAN GOGH'S STYLE

Find all the steps and materials you need in our drawing activity sheet for kids. Download it below.

  1. Print the Vincent Van Gogh landscape (see below)
  2. Prepare your gouache discs, a fine brush and a glass of water.
  3. Paint the parts of the landscape that you want to colour and let your painting dry.
  4. Using your brush pens, add more colour to your painting. Using small strokes, apply colourful patterns. These small strokes create the effect of movement, which you can emphasise using bright and dark versions of the same colour (e.g. light and dark blue).
  5. Let your painting dry. Well done, it's ready to be exhibited!
